Luxurious Lingerie by Fauve and Freya

I love underwear, bright ones, black ones, silk ones, stripy ones, you name it I’m a fan, but Im a 32G so finding cute underwear can be a nightmare! On your wedding day you want to feel amazing, but there are so many things to consider, like finding that perfect dress, that you often forget about what to wear under the dress. Hopefully this will help, especially for those gorgeous ladies with curves (yay!).

So where does the search begins? For me, my first stop is usually Freya or Fauve. They make underwear for the bigger busted lady and have a great range to choose from, not a bland or pale bra in sight! BUT before you start you should get fitted properly. Research shows that 85% of woman are wearing the wrong size bra, thats a a lot of sad boobs out there. A great fitting bra will change the way you feel and will do wonders for the way clothes sit.

The photos below show what a difference a good bra makes. That’s me in the beautiful Rosa Chantilley strapless moulded bra by Fauve on the left and on the right me in an ill fitting bra that I bought before I was properly fitted. When you look at them side by side the difference is pretty evident. What was I thinking! If you haven’t been measured you should try your local Marks & Spencer, Debenhams or House of Fraser or any dedicated lingerie store like Bravissimo or Rigby and Peller. It really is worth it!

Tips

I spoke to the wonderful team at Fauve and asked them what advice they could offer for brides when it comes to all things lingerie. There are some fantastic tips here!

♥ When you know your bra size, try on different shapes and styles of lingerie to get the look you want.

♥ Slinky dresses need plain seamless underwear whereas you can get more racy and lacy if the dress has an embroidered bodice or high neckline.  Wear it to all your dress fittings to make sure the dress fits perfectly over it.

♥ For a beautifully smooth silhouette wear a moulded strapless bra with control briefs.

♥ A basque ensures a sleek silhouette, making you feel confident and secure in a strapless gown.

♥ A smooth strapless bra gives a lovely natural shape and excellent support under a whole range of wedding dress styles, including halter necks.

♥ A body can give a perfect seamless look under close fitting gowns in delicate fabrics.

♥ If your dress has a sweetheart neckline try a balconette bra as it is cut slightly lower in the cup and gives a flattering décolletage.

♥ Don’t just concentrate on how you look from the front – while saying your vows you’ll have your back to your friends and family so it’s not a good moment for VPL!

♥ A suspender belt is always pretty and romantic but remember to ask your bridesmaid to carry a spare pair of stockings for any “ladder emergencies”.

Now here is a little inspiration for you…

♥ Rosa Chantilly range by Fauve

How gorgeous are these pieces! I have the moulded strapless bra (as shown in the picture above), the suspender belt and the underwear and they are awesome! Super comfortable and so pretty, they even have a tiny little blue bow on the underwear.
