Rich and Annelize’s Vintage Cape Town Wedding

I love featuring South African weddings as it reminds me of the country I grew up in and the weddings I see always show South Africa in such a wonderful light. Rich and Annelize’s beautiful wedding is no different, dont you just want to be in Cape Town with them celebrating at what looked like a wonderful day.

Hajley Petein Photography captured the day and I’m excited we get to feature some of Hajley’s work as I’m a bit of a fan.

How would you describe your wedding day?

Our day was really a true reflection of us and what we hold dear. Firstly putting God at the center as he bought us together and is the one that binds our hearts. Secondly honoring the most amazing people in our lives. And thirdly, creating a fun atmosphere with lots of laughs, tears, sincerity, kisses, hugs and uncontained joy.

What was your favourite part of the day?

There are so many, the first was walking down the aisle, I just couldn’t wait to be by Richard’s side and become his wife. The second was our vows, we wrote our own so they were really personal and incredibly special. Lastly was our first dance, the whole world just disappeared as he held me, nothing else mattered in that moment.

Words of wisdom for couples planning their wedding?

Keep the main thing the main thing. On the day, all the details disappear and it really becomes just about the two of you and what you share.

You will receive more opinions and advice than you can handle, but go with your instinct and something that’s true to you (doesn’t matter where the advice comes from).

The best advice you received for your big day?

All you really need is the two of you, a pastor and a witness, the rest is a blessing and bonus!

Anything you’d change?

I would have taken the whole week off before the wedding, I thought I could work till the last minute but it just stressed me out.
