Joann and Zach’s Nautical Themed Wedding

Ok, im back…sorry for the lack of posts, but WE GOT MARRIED!!! Yup I am officially the wife to them most awesome husband ever! It was a perfect day (we even had sunshine, which for a March wedding in England is pretty lucky). I’ll definitely be blogging the details in a couple of weeks, so stay tuned.

Today, however, I wanted to feature Joann and Zach’s beautiful nautical themed wedding. It has a lovely meaning for the couple as “The nautical theme came about because some of our favorite memories of getting to know each other were at the beach.”

When you think nautical I’m sure many of you think of blue and white stripes and sailors outfits, but Joann and Zach have shown there is so much more to it than that. Gorgeous pastel colours, sandcastles and sea shells work beautifully. How fabulous are the survival kit favours which even include a compass!

All the little details like the fabulous bouquets, Joann’s stunning dress and one of the most creative grooms we’ve seen make this one of the prettiest weddings yet! Vanessa Joy Photography did a wonderful job of capturing the day!

How would you describe your wedding day?

With all the stress of planning (and changing our venue only three months prior to the wedding day), we can happily say our wedding day was fantastic!

What was your favourite part of the day?

Zach: Seeing Joann walk down the aisle on her father’s arm. I couldn’t stop smiling.

Joann: At the end of the aisle, when my father gave me away. My parents both hugged Zach, my father put my hand in his, and Zach then led me the final few steps up to the alter. When I watched my father hug my future husband, it all became real & magical at that moment.

Words of wisdom for couples planning their wedding?
With all the details and planning you put into your wedding, it is hard to not worry about how they will all come together on your day. Don’t fret about the details on your day! Take each moment one step at a time & soak up each moment as it happens. After the wedding, you will want to remember what your sister said when she toasted you, not whether the cake topper was on your cake! You’ll appreciate the important moments with your husband, family, and friends more than the details.

The best advice you received for your big day?
All married couples think they are wedding experts & will try to tell you what you should and shouldn’t do. Listen to what they have to say, and then go ahead and do whatever you want, anyway! It really is YOUR day!!

Anything you’d change?
No! I married the perfect man, and that is all that matters!

Joann and Zachs videographer, the awesome Rob Adams did a same day edit which they played throughout the reception. What a great idea!

Invitations: Wedding Paper Divas and we also enhanced the printed invitations with our own special touches. Zach cast a silver seal monogram, which we used to stamp golden wax seals on all the invitation envelopes. We also embossed the corners on the enclosures & embellished the invitation with a rhinestone.
